i hope the writers thought about their life choices after reading those tweets.
Those tweets seem to harp on the same things, there were other lots of terrible things left out, like Mercedes losing all of her friends, no friendship that didn’t involve Rachel being shown, the lack of Samcedes after all of that buildup, Mercedes not getting a competition solo, Kurt wasting an entire season on trying to get into NYADA only to end up being a prop for Rachel, Will not dying in a fire, the Domestic Abuse storyline, the suicide storyline, the pointless “Sebastian/Blaine” shit, Tina again not having an actual storyline focused on her (her storyline ended up being all about Rachel). Mercedes’ storyline getting hijacked by Santana. Santana being outed by Finn and then THANKING him for it. Artie not singing nearly as much as he should have. Sam not having any storyline that wasn’t about Mercedes (I love Samcedes, but remember when Sam was his own character?). Blaine not being 12, making him a junior was one of the dumbest things of the season. Not letting Britt graduate. Not only not letting Britt graduate, but not having anyone show concern for her graduation status while the entire damn club was trying to help Puck. Kurt dedicating his song to the BOYS (WTF?). Artie dedicating their song to FINN (again, WTF? do they not know he was BLACKMAILED into joining?). I could go on, but I need to check my boss’ voicemails.

I was a theater kid before I was a journalist, and then for a time I was both, and you can all see which won out in the end, but my heart still knows and feels the pull of the theater life. It’s probably why I’m so intrigued by and enamored with Team StarKid. They’re fascinating, both in terms of how they create and collaborate, as well as how they have been able to forge this digital to physical connection with a fan base. It’s great when pop culture can be an inspiration, that’s a driving force in what I do and I love seeing others succeed at it.
The StarKids were kind enough to give me and my photographer incredible access to a day of their tour in Los Angeles, allowing me the space to be an ethnographer (ironically for their archeology-themed show!) but not a fly on the wall – the reason so many people love them is you can’t help but love them. It’s very easy to feel awkward or out of place when you’re “the journalist” and you’re spending so much time with “the subjects,” and on the flip side there’s a point where you can feel “too close.” I’m so glad they gave me the space to feel neither. I’m excited to share my story and Joseph’s beautiful photos (I know, really, that the photos are the liquid gold for fandom and you’ll reupload them to Tumblr, but click on Billboard please so I can prove you enjoyed it) of what a day in the life of Team Starkid is like with their fans. Thank you Pat, Samara, Brian H, Brian R, Joey, Joe, Dylan, Meredith, Lauren, Jim, Jaime, Charlene, Megan, Tomek, Dave, Clark, Darren, Corey, Sarah, June, Liam, Julia and whomever I’m forgetting because there are a million of you. You’re totally awesome.Ask is open as always. If you want to know what Joey Richter smelled like I can already tell you it was “pork bbq.”
